How applying for farm support works in Lithuania

1. Find the right measure and window

Each measure of the CAP Strategic Plan opens for applications in fixed windows set by the Ministry of Agriculture (ŽŪM). Rules, eligible costs, support rates and selection criteria are set per measure and per call.

2. Check eligibility against the rules

Typical conditions include a registered agricultural holding, economic size thresholds, age (for young farmer set-up), business plan requirements and co-financing. Many investment calls rank applications by selection score against a fixed budget.

3. Prepare and submit the application

Applications are filed electronically by the applicant or an authorised representative - most through the ministry's ŽŪMIS system, some energy and environment calls through APVIS - in Lithuanian, with the documents the call requires.

4. Assessment and decision by the paying agency

The National Paying Agency (NMA) checks eligibility, scores and ranks applications and decides on funding. Some calls close early when the budget is used up. A listing here never confirms remaining budget or your eligibility.
